Peter has been building software for the oil and gas industry for over four decades. He founded multiple companies and has deep experience in geoscience, drilling, and enterprise software systems. He launched Ubiterra to bring that same focus on practical, field-driven software to the next generation of drilling teams.

Rachel has spent more than a decade selling technical tools to the oil & gas industry, with a passion for the science behind it. Her background spans reflection seismology, microseismic services, and electromagnetic frac fluid tracking, giving her a deep technical foundation. She got her start at the Long Beach Oil Field, where community relations work introduced her to geoscience and engineering. She leads sales & marketing at Ubiterra, focused on connecting asset teams with the tools that help them make better decisions and drill better wells. She holds a BS in Journalism and Spanish from California State University, Long Beach.
Andrew McCallister

Andrew brings hands-on oil and gas experience across super majors, private equity operators, and service companies from new ventures exploration and appraisal to running full-time drilling programs. That breadth gives him a rare ability to understand how asset teams work and what they need from their software. He holds an MS in Geology from the University of Kansas and a BS in Geology from the University of Arizona. At Ubiterra, he leads product development, technical sales, application testing, and customer integration.
[OUR MISSION]

To bring Oil & Gas into its next era – where better decisions come from better team visibility.

ZoneVu is designed to:

  • Bring the full subsurface into view
  • Connect geology, drilling, and completions in one system
  • Give every discipline access to the same, aligned data
  • Reduce friction between teams
  • Enable faster, more confident execution
[WHAT WE BELIEVE]

You can’t change the rock.
But you can:

  • Understand it better
  • Align your teams around it
  • Execute more effectively because of it

That’s where better wells come from.

[OUR ORIGIN STORY]

A True Database — Built to Solve a Real Problem

ZoneVu began with a simple goal: bring the full power of the cloud to Oil & Gas.

Before ZoneVu, teams in complex basins were making critical decisions with:

Printed seismic sections
Emailed data files
Disconnected systems

There was no shared, real-time view of the subsurface.

[2012]

Cloud-native by design, not by retrofit

Most oilfield software starts on the desktop and adds cloud sync as an afterthought. ZoneVu was different — built from the ground up to store data as a single source of truth, deliver it instantly across teams, and visualize it in modern browser-based environments.

[2015]

The moment that changed it

Jason Brand and his team at Great Western Oil & Gas were steering horizontal wells using printouts of seismic and disconnected data. They asked Ubiterra a simple question: “Can we see our seismic while we’re drilling – live, at the bit? At the time, nothing like that existed.

[From idea to system]

Seismic, stitched to the bit

By conditioning, depth-correcting, and continuously updating rig data in the cloud, ZoneVu made something possible that had never been done: seismic volumes that automatically update to the bit as you drill – no manual alignment, no lag, no stretching and squeezing seismic screenshots.

[Expansion]

From geosteering tool to geologic system

With input from operators including PDC Energy, the vision expanded. Seismic, interpretations, drilling data, and completions could all live in one continuous system — eliminating handoffs and preserving subsurface context across the full well lifecycle.

So We Built It

ZoneVu evolved from a true cloud database into a shared subsurface system for drilling, geosteering, and completions.

What ZoneVu is Today

  • ZoneVu replaces:
  • Manual data stitching
  • Fragmented workflows
  • Disconnected interpretations
  • With:
  • One shared system
  • Continuous context
  • Full visibility

Why It Matters Now

Geology

Targets are more complex

Teams

Smaller, with higher expectations

Execution

Matters more than ever

ZoneVu exists to give teams the clarity they need to operate in that reality.
